A growing number of Korean Millennials and Gen Zs are visiting fortune tellers and tarot card readers in hopes of learning what the year 2023 might have in store for them. This phenomena is being partially fueled by the growing sense of anxiety being felt by the young generation over the global economic downturn and weaknesses in the job market. We visited a tarot card cafe in Seoul’s popular nightlife district of Hongdae to experience this trend for ourselves.
