박근혜 대통령의 취임식부터 그녀가 깊숙이 개입한 것이 아니냐는 의혹이 불거졌다.
이후 오방낭은 코미디 프로그램과 드라마 등에 시국을 풍자하는 요소로 등장하며 전 국민의 조롱거리가 됐다.
